About my experience with public speaking about my disability

Ok so as of April, 26, 2014, I decided to be part of an autism panel where I share with people coming to watch me talk about my experiences with other people, as well as talk about things I like to do, where I'm from, who I consider a support system, as well as experiences with school and what I would like to do for work, and if we had any advice for adults who had a child who just got diagnosed. And eventhough I promised I wouldn't do this and really wanted to just be professional, when we talked about our school experiences and I had to talk about what was hard for me, I happened to mention one of my worst years in school. And I really tried talk about what happened, I really didn't want to get emotional in front of anyone because I just wanted to look professional, but when it came to talking about it, I got emotional in front of people. I know that some people did actually come up to us and told us it was the best panel they had ever seen, and that I did a ...

I wonder about new music material Five will come up with.

Ok, if I could ask Abz from the boy band Five, anything it would be something to do with his having AS. What I'm wondering is, if they were ever to write any new material, would Abz from Five, ever possibly want to write a song, having something to do with having Asperger's Syndrome, whether it maybe taking a stand against stereotyping people with it, or just empowering people with it, or maybe even a song that may provide comfort for individuals who either just got diagnosed, or they have family members who just got diagnosed, as a way of letting them know, that they're not alone? I know that wouldn't really go with the image that Five carries, and it would be a rather touchy, sensitive subject to be writing songs about. But if they're supposed to be the "Bad Boys of Pop", my guess is if they were to have a song about Asperger's Syndrome, it would probably be taking a very aggressive stand against maybe any stigma there maybe about people with Asperge...

my fan letter to Five

Ok, so in one of my earlier blogs, I said that if there were 2 other famous people that I wanted to meet in person one day who had Asperger's Syndrome, it would be Heather from America's Next Top Model, Cycle 9, and Abz, from the boy band, Five. And the problem with me getting a hold of them was that they didn't even know I'm alive. Well, now one of them does, hopefully after last night and tonight. The thing is, after watching videos of them on youtube from last year and finding out what I did about the guys from Five, I did end up writing a letter to the guys from Five, who are still very much in the boy band letting them know that I liked their music, they had some great music, and that they deserve to be so much more than a one hit wonder here, in the USA. And I hope they can make a successful come back here in the USA, someday. In some of this fan letter, I also was talking to Abz about his having Asperger's Syndrome, and letting him know that I have it too, an...
