Well, it's another new year
Well here we are. It's a new year. 2018. This morning Jason and I were talking about the things we wanted to do this year. Jason said he wanted for us to move back into Waukesha, this year, go to Noah's Ark water park in the Wisconsin Dells or take some kind of mini vacation. He said he also wanted to propose to me this year. I think this sounds good. Hopefully this year will be better after a disappointing year we had in 2017. At least we got to move in together this last year. Anyway, things maybe looking up. Today we went over by my parents and we each got a check for $500.00. So I think getting that kind of money at the beginning of the month of a new year is a good way to start the year. Tomorrow I'm going to deposit the check so my balance goes up into the 4 digit numbers range. Then I'll have more money to pay for whatever it is I need for this month. And hopefully I might be more likely to save more money after everything I need to have paid for this month is paid off. So if I have more money saved up at the beginning of the year, I'm hoping it's a sign that things are starting to look up. I'm also going to be getting a new debit card in the mail soon. New card, new year. I should look at it as a new beginning.
Some other things to look forward to this month include the fact that even though we're experiencing a freeze wave right now where temperatures are either in the single digits or below 0 degrees, this weekend they're going to get back up into the 20's again, which should be a lot better. I know 20 degree weather still isn't very warm but it's better than what it's been, lately. Another thing is just noticing how much lighter out it gets and how much longer it stays light out after 5pm again, this month, from the first day to the last day of January. But as far as temperature goes, I think this weekend we're going to have a little bit of a January Thaw, where it warms up, a little bit. 30 degrees doesn't really feel that cold out at this time of year, once temperatures have been in the 10's and single digits. And next weekend after this, we're invited to spend time with relatives on my mom's side of the family. I'm hoping we both can.
