Tangerine Dream
So, 9 years ago, I decided to download some songs by the Penguin Cafe Orchestra. And when doing it while using the software I was using to download it, there was a music file that I had downloaded. The music file I downloaded may have been mis-labled or something. The only clue I had was it said "Tangerine Dream". I think according to the file, it said the song was "Tangerine Dream", by Penguin Cafe Orchestra, album, Penguin Reference, or something like that so I did some research on Penguin Cafe Orchestra to see what all albums they had and what songs were on there, and that song I had downloaded wasn't from any of those albums. But I decided to keep the music file anyway, because I thought the music was pretty. I even used it for some footage I recorded when I went to the zoo in Milwaukee and later posted it to youtube.com since youtube was always badgering me about what music I put on my slideshows and montages, after uploading them. I never found out what that song was or who it was by. And then this last week, I had that song playing in my head and felt like maybe I should listen to it. But I didn't want to listen to it, unless I found out what the name of the song was. So luckily, I posted something in a group I'm part of on facebook where we talk about random things. I mentioned how I had downloaded a New Age music song 9 years ago and had no idea what the name of the song was or who did it. But I also gave them the link to the video I had recorded 9 years ago on youtube.com. Sure enough, someone was able to recognize it. Turns out the name of the song was called "Penguin Reference", and it was by a New Age group known as, Tangerine Dream. So then I did some research on Tangerine Dream to see what album that came off. Then after finding out which album that was off of, I decided to listen to some of their other songs on youtube to see what they sounded like. There's one song off that album I really liked that I can't seem to stop listening to, everyday, called "Big City Dwarves". That seems to be one of my favorite songs I've heard by them, besides their song, "Penguin Reference". I also liked their tracks, "Funky Atlanta", and "Girls on Broadway", and "Red Roadster". I'm thinking maybe later, I'll have to listen to some of their other songs, both new and old. Just to see what I think of those tracks, see if I like any of those. Being someone who kind of grew up listening to New Age music, I think I might like some of their stuff. But New Age music isn't for everyone, though. I also did some research on the band. I found out that they're from Germany, they've been around now for 50 years. That's longer than Mannheim Steamroller, and they also did music for the ever so famous 80's movie, Risky Business. Cool.
Here's just a link to the one song I can't seem to stop listening to:
