Highlights for May
Some of the highlights for May, 2025 are that I graduated from Partners and Policy Funding. Hope I can keep in touch with some of the people I've met, there. I've already invited them to upcoming events this year, that I'm a part of that they appeared interested in. I told Amber about our group meetings since she's on the spectrum, too, and she showed interest. So, I hope to see there, granted, sometimes people come and go and get busy. Then, there's these 2 women I met there who are a little older than me and are sisters. They had a son and nephew who sadly passed away when he was just 3 years old and went through hell for him, when they shouldn't have had to. And he had a congenital heart defect. So, I let them know about the Children's congenital heart defect walk that I've been doing in Jason's memory. And they both seemed interested, so I gave them the link and information. And if they were to attend and ever wanted to create a team in his memory as well, they could just name it after their organization they've got going in memory of their son and nephew. It might help bring better recognition to their organization, I think.
So, I hoping, Amber or Erin and I can team up to talk to our state legislatures. And I do hope to also be successful at putting together a petition as to why we could use a women's group at autism united.
I hear that Impeachment for that fat orange thing, Donald Trump is FINALLY underway! Yay!
From the 9th of May all through the following week of May, temperatures were in the 70's and 80's. If there's always one thing I like about the spring months, it's when we get to experience temperatures being in the 60's through the 80's!
As of 5/13/2025, the democrats have flipped another seat in Nebraska! And Congress has forced a Trump impeachment vote! Yay! And the Impeachment resolution against Trump has advanced into the House of Reps! YES!
Over Memorial day weekend, I ended up going online and researched "Inexpensive used cars", and it took me to a website for a dealership. I figured, since I got into an accident 4 months ago, and if I wanted to get another car to drive around, maybe I should look for cars online, too. I mean, for the last 2 months now, my mom has been on my dad's ass about finding me a new car and hadn't done it. So, I just figured, if I want to get a new car, maybe I should look, too. And why shouldn't I? I'm an adult. Anyway, I go on this website, and fill out some of my information. And then shortly after, I get these e-mails, and text messages and calls from a car dealership, since I went online to see if maybe I could look at used cars for a cheaper price. I never dreamed a car dealership would ever call me and ask me questions about my financial situation and let me know they could work with me around that. And then next thing I know, they're asking me to meet up with them. I really didn't want my parents to know that I had gone online to even look at used inexpensive cars, and found that website, and then talked with someone from a dealership. But when I got the text from them about meeting them in person, I just felt like I shouldn't put it off. So, I called my mom, let her know what I did and how I'm not getting text messages from a car dealership asking me to meet up with them in person. And when I saw her on Memorial Day, I told her when the dealership was, because it's in Elkhorn, and who the dealership was. It turns out, that's the same dealership she got her car. And I'm so relieved that she wasn't mad at me and was willing to go with me to Elkhorn on Thursday to this dealership. My dad might not have been too happy, but my mom said I definitely made more of an initiative to get a new car than he did. And why shouldn't I? I'm now in my 40's. I think I should have a right to look online and at a dealership at cars for a cheaper price, if possible. So, it looks like I might be getting a new car, just in time for the summer.
I also recently went on the website for Sea World in Orlando, FL to see if there's anything new going on there. And found out they also have some new opportunities to get up close and personal with some of their animals they have, there. In all the times I had visited Sea world in Orlando, FL, they've always had their shows, and some rollercoasters, but they've never had given people the opportunity to get up close and personal with some of their animals. And I know if I go again, I'd like to do the Orca encounter, since that's something I've wanted to do since I was 8. Not too long ago, I had even written something on facebook about wanting to either go on a vacation to the Dells or Orlando, FL. And then on Memorial Day, my mom came to me and told me she would like to go to Orlando again, because there's things there she would like to see and do down there. I think that's cool, because at the same time, there's things I would like to do down there, as well. The new Orca encounter at Sea World, as well as some of the other shows and possibly new and old rides they have there, now. It's a shame we might not get to go while Typhoon is opened, since it's only open now during the summer months, and it's not opened year-round like it might have used to be when I was 10. But if we can't go there, I'm hoping we can always go to Aquatica, because they have some new stuff there, as well, and I like that water park a lot, too. My sister, Dana, thinks she wants to go again, but she wants to see the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Islands of Adventure.
